DigiDuck – Safer Online

Special mini-edition of Donald Duck magazine to raise awareness on cyber security amongst children
How do we make children, the general public as well as professionals aware of cyber security? Within the Global Forum on Cyber Expertise, parties take the initiative to strengthen cooperation on raising cyber security awareness by creating more opportunities for governments, the private sector, civil society, citizens, and all other actors to engage and develop innovative solutions. The DigiDuck – Cyber Security Awareness special is an example of a playful tool to raise awareness among the youngest in our societies.

The DigiDuck is a special mini-edition of the magazine Donald Duck that is very popular in the Netherlands. It contains comics about Donald Duck and other citizens of Duckburg who use the Internet to share for instance funny pictures on their Snoutbook page or to quack on Quacker, and experience Goofy moments. The booklet contains hints and tips on how to use internet and social media safely. It also gives a short overview of examples on how parties work together to make sure people are safe online.

Copies of the DigiDuck will be available at the session Education during the GCCS on Friday the 17th.

And the DigiDuck is also available online. Hard copies can be ordered (free, while stocks last) via ECP | Platform for the Information Society: contact
